Rhea Caras was formerly an in-house attorney with Nissan North America where she was responsible for the company’s intellectual property matters. Before joining Nissan, Ms. Caras was an intellectual property associate at White & Case and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. Ms. Caras has specialized in intellectual property matters since she graduated from law school where she was the Notes and Articles Editor for the USC Law School Computer Law Journal and where she authored “Computer Databases; An Argument for Special Protection”. Ms. Caras was an extern for the Hon. Cynthia Holcomb Hall, United States District Court. Ms. Caras litigates cases in federal and state courts and has taken cases through to jury verdict. Notable cases include: Harper House, Inc. v. Thomas Nelson, Inc., 889 F.2d 197 (9th Cir. 1989); Hartford House, Ltd. v. Hallmark Cards, Incorporated, 846 F.2d 1268 (10th Cir. 1988); Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. v. Nissan Computer Corporation, 378 F.3d 1002 (9th Cir. 2004).
